An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to lead sales at Icetank, a unique Central London venue.
This is a real opportunity to take ownership of the sales strategy for one of London’s most distinctive event spaces. We’re looking for someone experienced, driven, and well-connected in the events world – someone who knows how to build relationships, promote the venue, bring in bookings, and get results. You’ll be working directly with the Managing Director and playing a key role in expanding our presence across some of the most prestigious sectors in the industry. This is about building something from the ground up, with the freedom to shape how we grow and who we work with.
About Icetank:
Icetank is a modern, versatile, two-floor blank canvas event venue, conveniently located in Covent Garden, just off Shaftesbury Avenue. With 1800 sq. ft. of stylish and flexible space, Icetank is perfect for product launches, brand experiences, press days, pop-ups, exclusive receptions, corporate events, private dining, cooking demonstrations and creative productions including photography and film.
Who We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, and success-driven, with excellent contacts within the events industry who will drive visibility, bookings, and long-term client relationships for Icetank. You will be actively engaging key decision-makers across a broad spectrum of industries – including FMCG, F&B, beauty, fashion, luxury, technology, media, and the wider creative and lifestyle sectors – who are responsible for sourcing and selecting venues for events.
Responsibilities at a Glance:
- Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with her, with the aim to expand the team as soon as possible
- Proactively generate and convert venue hire enquiries
- Handle reactive sales by responding to incoming enquiries, providing information, conducting site visits and converting interest into confirmed bookings
- Identify and cultivate new client relationships while nurturing existing accounts
- Regularly engage with brand experience and communications agencies, event agencies, event planners, and venue-hire agents. This includes organising seasonal showcase events at Icetank, bringing together key industry professionals and decision makers. These events should be designed to highlight the venue’s versatility and create a buzz, with suppliers contributing, DJs setting the vibe, and an afternoon of networking and inspiration to establish Icetank as a go-to creative space
- Proactively attend all relevant industry events representing Icetank
- Develop creative ideas and initiatives to attract new business
- Maintain and enhance Icetank’s market presence through outstanding customer care, strategic social media activities, and regular website updates
- Achieve ambitious yet realistic sales targets
- Above all, results and initiative matter most – we welcome creativity and innovative thinking in how the right candidate attracts and retains business
- This role is primarily focused on venue sales and does not typically involve organising or managing events on behalf of clients – unless the event is organised by us to promote the venue or comes directly from the client (such as private dining experiences or small in-house bookings such as DDR). In cases where an agency is managing the event, we usually do not take part in the planning or delivery. That said, we are open to expanding our in-house event offering, and the right candidate may be involved in shaping how we approach this. Your main priority will be to proactively reach out to event organisers and agencies who are a good fit for the venue, while also managing inbound enquiries, confidently selling the space, advising on its capabilities, and ensuring smooth execution by recommending trusted suppliers (from whom we earn commission). Therefore, while regular attendance during events is not required, you will be expected to meet and greet clients or agencies on-site and hand over to their production teams when needed. On occasions where we are organising the event ourselves, your presence may be required for a longer period
What Matters Most to Us:
- Solid experience in high-end venue sales, or in an events agency role where you regularly source venues for clients. This experience should translate into a strong understanding of current event trends and a keen sense of which types of brands and activations Icetank is ideally suited for
- Proven track record in achieving and surpassing challenging sales targets
- Strong industry connections within the events and brand experience sectors
- Resourcefulness, determination, and a genuine desire to succeed
- Articulate, with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to confidently engage in conversations. The ideal candidate should possess a natural ability to build rapport, fostering a creative and consultative approach to sales rather than one that is overly assertive or high-pressure
- Friendly, approachable personality that complements our small, dynamic team
Salary & Conditions:
- £30K – £40K base salary depending on experience, plus a commission structure. Realistic earnings of £50K + based on meeting targets
- Permanent role offered following a successful trial period
- Ground-up role within a team of three, with a key role to play in shaping future growth and structure
- Flexible working options, including WFH, on-site, and use of a nearby serviced office. Early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends are expected depending on the events schedule
